United manager hopes his squad will be strong enough

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Ashley Young is a doubt to face Everton on Saturday after sustaining a minor toe injury. Young, who has made an impressive start to his United career following his summer move from Aston Villa, is one of several fitness worries for the game. But Ferguson is hopeful his squad have enough strength in depth to provide adequate cover for their trip to Goodison Park in the lunchtime kick-off. Ferguson is expecting a tough game against the Toffees as his side look to bounce back from their embarrassing 6-1 drubbing against league leaders and derby rivals Manchester City. "We have one or two knocks. Ashley Young has a toe injury and we'll see what he's like today," Ferguson said. "The knocks are nothing serious and I hope we'll have a strong enough squad for tomorrow. "It's always a difficult game at Everton. I went to their game on Wednesday night (against Chelsea in the Carling Cup). "They all put a shift in and are always committed."
