Portsmouth sign Manchester City midfielder

Portsmouth have confirmed the signing of midfielder Abdul Razak on loan from Manchester City. Skysports.com revealed Pompey were leading the chase for the 18-year-old midfielder, and now they have confirmed his arrival. The Ivorian is on the fringes of Roberto Mancini's first-team squad and has already made his debut for City. City, though, are keen for Razak to gain further experience and have agreed to let him move to Fratton Park for the next month. Pompey co-caretaker manager Guy Whittingham said: "Abdul is a gifted midfield player who Manchester City think very highly of. "It's a great opportunity for him to come here and get some experience and we're looking forward to him being part of the squad. "We're very fortunate to have him and we're grateful to Manchester City for that." City boss Roberto Mancini said: "He's a talented footballer and a very good young man. I believe he has the ability to become a very important player for Manchester City." Razak has been signed in time to be included in Portsmouth's squad for the game with Derby this weekend.
