German club have no plan to sell star striker

Cologne general manager Volker Finke has reiterated that the club will do their best to keep hold of striker Lukas Podolski beyond the end of the current season. The Germany international is out of contract with the Bundesliga side in June 2013 and has hinted that he would explore his options next summer, revealing earlier this month that he needs "to see how the club develops" before making his final decision. English giants Arsenal are one of the clubs reportedly interested to acquire the services of Podolski although anything concrete has yet to materialise. And now Finke has once again stressed that Cologne are not contemplating selling the 26-year-old. "Lukas Podolski is our most valuable player at the moment," he said in an official statement. "We want him to enjoy life at our club. "And we will surely explore all possibilities to make him stay at Cologne in the future."
