March on his way to Amex
Lewes have confirmed that Brighton are set to seal the signing of their youngster Solly March.
Skysports.com revealed the news that the 17-year-old was set to move to Brighton earlier in the week.
Brighton have beaten off Premier League interest to land March, who will join the Seagulls in January once the deal is finalised.
Lewes boss Steven King told
The Argus: "The first time I saw Solly I knew he would make it.
"He could have gone to higher and bigger clubs. I don't mean that disrespectfully to Brighton but Newcastle, Sunderland and one or two other Premier League clubs were interested.
"He probably wanted to stay local and be nearer his family.
"Brighton are a Championship club now. They play good football, the manager wants to play the right way and Solly is a footballer so it is perfect for him to go to a club who want to play football.
"He is technically very good. He has bags of energy, is a box-to-box player, has a good left foot, a good shot, he sees things early and the weight of his passes is very good."
