Alkmaar surge six points clear

AZ Alkmaar moved six points clear at the top of the Eredivisie after a 2-0 win over FC Utrecht. As they were playing a day ahead of any of their rivals, AZ had the chance to extend their lead. And Gertjan Verbeek's men made no mistake at the AFAS Stadion with two second-half goals. The opening goal came just after the hour with Swedish star Rasmus Elm firing them ahead. The winner came in the final minute with Johann Berg Gudmundsson scoring.
