Arnaud training with Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough are considering a move for Paris Saint Germain forward Loris Arnaud,
skysports.com can confirm.
The 24-year-old, who can play on the wing or up-front, has come through the youth ranks at the Parc des Princes.
He has played nearly 20 games for the first-team, but has not featured since early 2010 and in recent months has been playing for their second string.
Arnaud has spent the majority of the last 12-months out on loan in Ligue 2, having enjoyed spells with Clerment and Angers.
His current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and he is looking at his options - one of those is a move abroad, and Middlesbrough have now stepped in.
Skysports.com understands Arnaud is currently in the North East training with Tony Mowbray's promotion chasers.
Talks
Mowbray is continuing to look at bolstering his squad and he is short in attack, and is keen to bring in at least one more attacking option.
"When you enquire about players and talk to their advisors it tends to make the newspapers," Mowbray admitted.
"There's lots of names out there we're discussing without making definitive decisions. It's not right to talk about players at other clubs.
"If the opportunity comes to add to our squad we'll seriously look at it in January. The scenario is we all know the current financial situation at the club.
"We may receive a massive bid for one of our players that we decide is too good to turn down.
"But let's see how the next couple of games go and see if the squad needs a little bit of help. We might be able to find a little bit of money to spend somewhere down the line."
