Skipper says City are gunning to face Arsenal
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists the club are ready to take on Arsenal this weekend despite suffering their first Premier League defeat of the season on Monday night.
City's unbeaten run came to an end at Stamford Bridge as fellow high-fliers Chelsea secured a 2-1 victory.
That result means Roberto Mancini's star-studded side are now just two points clear of local rivals Manchester United at the top of the table.
But Kompany insists the setback has not dampened their desire as they prepare to host the Gunners on Sunday.
He told
Sky Sports News: "Everybody is already fired up for Arsenal and that's what we want now, to play football again on Sunday.
"That's the main thing for us - everybody is ready for the next game."
Kompany, though, is aware of the threat posed by Arsene Wenger's in-form Gunners, as he said: "Arsenal are a great team. But we can beat great teams. On Sunday, we are looking to do what they have done.

"They have picked themselves up after a difficult month. The way they have done that is absolutely incredible.
"I consider them as a top team, who will make a top game of it. But we are a difficult team to beat at home.
"In the big games, even when we didn't win, we still looked like the team that was most likely to."
A number of City's players attended the club's Christmas party in London on Monday just hours after the Stamford Bridge disappointment.
Defender Kompany believes the festive bash was just the tonic the title-chasers needed to pick them up after the demoralising defeat.
"I'm only going to say one thing about it - you don't show how good or strong a team you are in the good moments when you win all the games," he added.
"After a defeat it's important you show that you're still a team and you're ready for the next game."
