Keeper enjoyed returning to Goodison Park with Norwich

Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy says he had nothing to prove on his return to former club Everton at the weekend, admitting he did not expect fans to remember him. The shot-stopper made just one appearance for the Toffees, off the bench in the Carling Cup, during a five-year stay at Goodison Park after being signed as an 18-year-old from Cambridge. Ruddy produced a hard-working display against his old side in Saturday's 1-1 draw, pulling off a string of fine saves. The 25-year-old, whose performances for the Canaries this season have reignited talk of him playing for England, told The Sun: "It was nice to come back and produce a battling performance. "There was none of having to prove myself, it was just nice to come back and see everyone. "When you go back people make a deal about it, but I expected a few fans not to even remember me."
