Frontman says he will not lose focus on Bees

Sought-after striker Izale McLeod insists he will not be distracted by speculation over his future and is focused on doing well for Barnet. The pacey frontman is currently the top scorer in League Two with 15 goals to his name, 19 in all competitions, and has been linked with numerous Championship and League One clubs recently. Bees manager Lawrie Sanchez admitted over the weekend that he faces a battle to hang on to the 27-year-old during the January transfer window. However, the former Charlton and MK Dons man feels his experience will help keep him grounded. "I'm 27 now and I've been around a bit since breaking into the first-team at Derby at the age of 17, so I know how to deal with speculation now," he told skysports.com. "It is just a case of playing my football because you never know what is round the corner and whatever will be will be.

Concentrate

"I'll just get my head down and concentrate on doing my best for Barnet and trying to add to my goal tally and we'll see what happens over the next month or so. "It's not for me to say really, but if a club comes in and puts and offer on the table which Barnet accept then great and we'll take it from there. "What I can say is that I believe in my own ability and will back myself to score goals wherever I play my football." The Bees recorded a much-needed victory on Monday, with a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers, which turned out to be Paul Buckle's final game as Pirates manager, and McLeod is keen to use the result as a platform to build on. He added: "After losing against both Dagenham and Crawley it made the Bristol Rovers game even more important for us, especially because the win meant that we draw level with them on points in the table. "Hopefully, we can build on that and start climbing the table further in the next few weeks."
