McMahon given chance to impress until the end of the season

Doncaster Rovers have signed teenage striker Sam McMahon on a short-term contract from SPL champions Rangers. McMahon has featured for Rangers' youth teams, but has accepted a professional deal with Doncaster until the end of the season. The 17-year-old will primarily play for Rovers' youth side, but he will also train with manager Dean Saunders' first-team squad. If the imposing forward impresses, then Doncaster have the option of extending the deal beyond the end of the campaign. Youth team manager Paul Wilson told the club's official website: "Sam is a strong, hardworking and aggressive striker and we are pleased to have him on board."
