Warnock makes move for Rovers defender

Sky Sports sources understand Queens Park Rangers have made a bid in the region of £5million for Blackburn defender Chris Samba. Samba's future at Blackburn has been the subject of intense speculation for the last six months with the club managing to keep hold of the giant defender during the summer transfer window. Arsenal and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old in the past, but QPR are hoping to lure him to Loftus Road. Rangers boss Neil Warnock has made signing a new centre-back a major priority in this month's transfer window and it is believed Samba is his top target. Blackburn are reluctant to lose Samba as they are keen to keep the powerful defender to help in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League. However, QPR will be hoping their bid will persuade Rovers to do business for Samba with the Ewood Park club reportedly short of funds.
