Emir Dautovic has travelled from Maribor for a week

Manchester City have taken teenage Slovenian defender Emir Dautovic on a trial. The 16-year-old, who is currently on the books of Slovenian champions Maribor, has been training with City for the past few days. Should Dautovic impress the Citizens' bosses, then he could be signed by the Premier League club, according to a senior Maribor official. "Yes, he went to England, he had our permission," Maribor sporting director Zlatko Zahovic told Ekipa. "Manchester City asked us if he could come to train with them and, of course, we allowed our boy to go to England for one week. "But that is all for now. Later we will see how things go. But for us, the most important thing is that Emir has a professional contract signed with our club."
