We look at the best and worst of the weekend's Premier League action after a thrilling few days.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND - AKOS BUZSAKY
A real tough call with Robbie Keane in real contention with his brace at former club Wolves. But QPR's Hungarian ace got the nod for his showing at Loftus Road. He scored a brilliant free-kick but he was everywhere on only his fourth start of the season.
GAME OF THE WEEKEND - SPURS v MAN CITY
A wonderful opening to Super Sunday saw top of the table City go head-to-head with third placed Spurs. City went into a two-goal lead before Spurs battled back wonderfully to level the match, then in the final minute Mario Balotelli was brought down by Ledley King, and the Italian dusted himself down to slot him the winner with virtually the last kick of the match.
GOAL OF THE WEEKEND - GARETH BALE
Bale just got the vote on a weekend which had a number of top strikes with Robbie Keane, Stephane Sessegnon, Craig Gardner, Akos Buzsaky, Danny Guthrie and Hugo Rodallega all scoring sublime efforts.
The Welshman was only showing glimpses of his best at the Etihad before he stepped up with a moment of genius as he brilliantly curled the ball home to level the match.
PASS OF THE WEEKEND - DAVID SILVA
Not for the first time and certainly not the last as Silva unlocked the Spurs defence, splitting their backline with a wonderful ball which allowed Samir Nasri to fire home the opening goal.
MISS OF THE WEEKEND - ROBIN VAN PERSIE
If there is one man in the league you want to have the ball just seven yards from goal with the net gaping, Van Persie would be the first name on most people's lips but not on Sunday as the Dutchman picked up a ball from Tomas Rosicky and moved it onto his left foot before firing wide with half the ground already celebrating what they thought was a goal. He did make amends later with the crucial equaliser.
GAFFE OF THE WEEKEND - THOMAS SORENSEN
Tim Cahill's decidedly dodgy goal-line clearance in Everton's game was a contender but Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen's error was a shocker. James Morrison let fly from 30-yards and the ball did move in the air but the Dane was flat-footed and should have done better.
SAVE OF THE WEEKEND - BEN FOSTER
In stark contrast to his opposite number at the Britannia Stadium, Foster had a good day - and he made a crucial penalty save to deny Jon Walters, which proved hugely important as West Brom went on to win 2-1. Honourable mention also for Ali Al-Habsi's fine penalty stop against QPR.
CONTROVERSY - MARIO BALOTELLI
Balotelli takes the honour, which could easily be renamed 'The Balotelli' given how often he is in contention for this. He scored the winner in injury time for City after being brought down by King, but many are arguing that he should not have been on the pitch for what happened in the 80th minute. Already on a booking, after having a shot blocked, he stepped backwards and caught Scott Parker in the head. Spurs said it was deliberate and he should have gone - only the Italian will truly know.
