Burnley boss not looking to get rid of Irish winger
Burnley boss Eddie Howe insists Keith Treacy is 'going nowhere' during the transfer window.
The Irish winger only arrived at Turf Moor last summer, with Burnley paying Preston an undisclosed fee, but the 23-year-old has been linked with a move away this month.
League One promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday are thought to be interested in Treacy while there are also rumours of a return to his former club Preston.
The Republic of Ireland international has been frustrated not to cement a spot in Burnley's starting line-up, due to inconsistent form and fitness.
The former Blackburn trainee has managed two goals from 20 league appearances, seven coming off the bench, but Howe insists he remains part of his plans.
Part to play
The Clarets are 12th in the Championship and Howe believes Treacy can help them push into the play-offs.
"Keith won't be going anywhere," he told the
Lancashire Telegraph.
"It's important we reiterate our desire to keep the whole squad together.
"Everyone has got a part to play in the run-in."
