Sky Sports understands Rangers and Celtic are battling it out for Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs. The 21-year-old recently revealed he has yet to agree the optional one-year extension which last summer was included in the initial 12-month deal he signed upon arriving at Fratton Park. Cash-strapped Pompey could therefore be considering selling before Tuesday's 11pm winter transfer deadline in order to make some profit. Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic are consequently monitoring the situation and might attempt to complete a move for the forward. Ibrox boss Ally McCoist wants a replacement for Everton-bound Nikica Jelavic, while Parkhead manager Neil Lennon is in the market for a big target-man.
