Spaniard admits he never thought United would pull off comeback

Juan Mata has revealed Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was 'furious' following his side's shock collapse at home to Manchester United on Sunday. The Blues stormed into a three-goal lead in the Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge, with Mata and David Luiz finding the back of the net after a first-half Jonny Evans own goal. But United came back to stun the hosts as two Wayne Rooney penalties and a late Javier Hernandez header sealed a 3-3 draw. Spanish forward Mata says manager Villas-Boas was livid after his side allowed Sir Alex Ferguson's men to claw their way back into the clash.

Furious

He told The Sun: "I'd have preferred to win and not score. "The coach was furious after the match. And also the players because in a match like this you'd never think we could waste a three-goal home advantage. "How many times will Chelsea be in with a chance to defeat United, winning 3-0 after 50 minutes? "I never believed they could pull level. It was bad news for us and confirmed the race for fourth place will not be easy."
