Striker could not be happier at Parkhead
Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has revealed he hopes to win a new deal at Parkhead.
The 23-year-old, who enjoyed his best performance for Celtic in Sunday's 5-0 win over Hibernian, according to Neil Lennon, has just over a year to run on his current contract and he has been linked with a move away from the club.
Stokes' future has been the subject of speculation with the Irishman struggling to hold down a regular place in Lennon's starting line-up.
However, Stokes insists he is determined to pledge his long-term future to Celtic as he is happy with life in Glasgow.
Happy
Speaking after the win over Hibs, Stokes said: "I have another season remaining on my contract and an option after that but a new deal? Of course, because I've never been happier at a club.
"Listen, I can't see myself playing for anyone else for a long time if the offer is on the table.
"Without a doubt the manager here has made me a better player. I know when he hammers me it's for my own good as he wants to get the best out of me.
"I probably didn't realise that the first couple of times he had a go at me in the past but I do now. Yes, this was my best performance under him and I'm delighted to be back in the team and on the scoresheet again."
