Defender hoping to keep his place for home fixture against Everton

Clint Hill admits he would like to play more games for Queens Park Rangers, though his lack of first-team opportunities this year does not mean he is looking to leave Loftus Road. The experienced defender made his 15th appearance for QPR in the 1-0 defeat by Fulham last Saturday, albeit that it was his first start since the home loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup at the end of January. Hill had a stint on loan at Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign but boss Mark Hughes will not be allowing him to go out again on a temporary basis. Instead the 33-year-old will try and prove he has a future at the capital club beyond this season. "Every season, every year I get written off - and I think if I play well you should see it both ways as to whether I stay or put myself in the shop window," he told the Fulham Chronicle. "Every one of the 25 named in the squad has been told they can't go on loan, and I would like to play more games here." Hill started at centre-half against Fulham and is hoping to keep his place at the heart of the defence for Saturday's home fixture against Everton. QPR will be looking to complete a Premier League double over the Toffees, having triumphed 1-0 at Goodison Park back in August. He added: "I would really like to play them again. We played them before and got a good result then, and I did start out at a centre-back, and once in a while I like to go back to playing there."
