Transfer battle to resume for Blackburn midfielder

Sky Sports understands that Arsenal are now leading the chase for Blackburn star Steven N'Zonzi. A host of clubs were chasing the Frenchman in January, with Stoke making a move to try and lure him from Ewood Park. Blackburn stood firm and the player was happy to stay until the summer and help with Rovers' battle against relegation. But it now seems that N'Zonzi is ready to move on at the end of the season, with a host of clubs ready to do battle.

Interest

Sky Sports understands that N'Zonzi has moved towards the top of Arsene Wenger's wanted list following a string of excellent displays. Wenger is already a confirmed fan, with his interest first emerging when Arsenal were linked with the former Amiens man back in 2010. The Emirates boss has maintained an interest in the 23-year-old and it is believed the Gunners are now in pole position to land him. However, there is extensive interest in N'Zonzi with Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle all keeping tabs on him.
