Bolton boss insists it was always going to be a season of transition

Owen Coyle insists the current campaign was always going to be a season of transition for Bolton Wanderers, but remains optimistic of Premier League survival. Bolton have endured a difficult season and currently sit second bottom of the table, two points from safety, and with 11 games remaining. The Trotters have also lost 19 of their 27 league matches to date, but Coyle retains the backing of the Reebok Stadium hierarchy. Relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers are the opposition on Saturday and Coyle is adamant that he is not taking the task of keeping Bolton in the top flight lightly.

Frustration

"If people are giving me stick, all I would say is that nobody puts me under any more pressure than I do myself," said Coyle. "I don't take the job lightly. As much as I put a brave face on things, deep down I am really hurting when we lose. "I love this football club and of course there will be frustration from fans. But they know what we are trying to put in place. "This was always going to be a season of transition because of the squad we inherited and the injury situation we had. "It is not rocket science to understand why we have had such a slow start. But we are not getting too low because we know what is at the end of the tunnel. "We have the vision. Now we have to achieve it in the last 11 games."
