Twente boss believes six teams are in contention to lift trophy

FC Twente manager Steve McClaren believes his side have a one in six chance of walking away with the Eredivisie title this season. The top of the Dutch table is extremely tight heading into the final weeks of the campaign, with just seven points separating leaders AZ Alkmaar and sixth-placed Feyenoord. Ajax, Twente, PSV Eindhoven and Heerenveen are also in the running and McClaren believes any of the top six could lift the trophy. The former England boss, who returned for a second stint at the helm of Twente in January after guiding the club to the title in 2010, insists his side can bounce back from defeat at NEC Nijmegen last weekend. He told Voetbal International: "From my first day in Enschede I said, when it comes to the championship, we are one of six candidates. "So we have a chance of one in six and that's certainly not been diminished by our defeat against NEC."
