Coach pens new two-year deal at Dutch side
VVV Venlo manager Ton Lokhoff has extended his deal at the Eredivisie strugglers by a further two years.
The 52-year-old coach took charge of VVV earlier this season following the departure of Glen de Boeck after a disappointing run of results.
Under Dutchman Lokhoff, the club have climbed off the bottom of the table and away from automatic relegation.
However, they are still in danger of the drop, currently sitting 16th in a relegation play-off place.
Confidence
Lokhoff, who was initially contracted on a short-term deal, feels the club's decision to extend his stay shows they have faith in his ability to keep VVV up this season.
He told the club's
official website: "I stepped in here a few months ago with full belief.
"I have been given the task of keeping the club in the Eredivisie by the VVV Venlo board and that is still our goal.
"It's a good sign VVV Venlo wanted to talk about a new deal already. The fact that we've worked it out so quickly shows confidence."
