Defender feels Ligue 1 is tougher than Premier League
Alex has insisted he feels better at Paris St Germain than he did at Chelsea because nobody at the club feels more important than anyone else.
The Brazilian defender made the move to the French capital in January to link back up with former Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Alex had found himself frozen out of the Chelsea team under Andre Villas-Boas and is enjoying life at PSG as he feels their future is bright.
The 29-year-old says he has found the dressing room a very different place because there is not the same level of self-importance as at Stamford Bridge.
He said in the
Daily Star: "I feel better at PSG than I did at Chelsea. Chelsea's squad had a lot of big names - and that entails a lot of egoism.
"Nobody at PSG feels more important than the others. We're at the start of a big adventure and we're all pulling in the same direction."
France backing
Alex has been impressed by the standard of football in Ligue 1 since linking up with PSG and is enjoying the different style.
He believes there is more emphasis on defending in France and has backed Les Bleus to come out on top against England when the national teams meet at Euro 2012.
"The French first division is a very defensive-minded and difficult league," he explained.
"It is often tougher than in England, where certain teams feel beaten before the start when they play Manchester United or Chelsea.
"It will be tough, but if France continue to defend well, they have a real chance of beating England."
