Futures of Wiese, Fritz and Pizarro are not certain

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs has hit back at criticism of the club's slow contract dealings with several players. According to reports, 12 players, including Germany international goalkeeper Tim Wiese and fellow international Clemens Fritz, are yet to have certain futures. Key striker Claudio Pizarro is also surrounded by speculation, but Allofs has insisted the situation is under control. He said in a statement to Leipzig-based 90elf radio station: "The media coverage about the situation is pure scare tactics. "There are several contracts of young players among those 12 deals - players, whose contracts are not a very top priority for a club like Werder Bremen. "Some of those deals will certainly not be extended, too. In the end, there will be three or four contracts that are of a real importance." Allofs added: "But we have done our homework. And we will be able to submit decisions at the right point in time."
