Boss wants to see change in behaviour

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has told Mario Balotelli to improve his behaviour if he wants to have a long-term future at the club. The Italian striker has been no stranger to controversy since his move from Inter Milan two years ago, much to his manager's frustration. His latest indiscretion came at Arsenal last Sunday when he was sent off for two bookable offences but was lucky not to be dismissed earlier for a nasty looking challenge on Alex Song - a tackle Mancini admitted deserved a red card. Speaking immediately after the game, which Arsenal won 1-0, a furious Mancini revealed he may sell Balotelli in the summer. He has since accepted an apology from his countryman, who wants to stay at the club, and the City boss admitted Balotelli may still have a future at the Etihad Stadium.

Positive Change

However, he has warned the forward that he needs to back up his remorseful words with a positive change in behaviour, or risk being sold. "We are happy but it doesn't change the situation," said Mancini. "If he wants to stay he should change his mind. "I spoke with Mario a lot of times about this. "I don't think he can stay here for 10 years together with me. This is impossible. But if tomorrow, or in two or three years, he changes managers or squads, it is important he changes his behaviour. "He has a lot of quality but he can lose it with his attitude."
