Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has no regrets over the loan move that saw him return to former club Zenit St Petersburg. The 30-year-old rejoined Zenit in February, just over three years after the Gunners signed him for a fee of around £15million, and last weekend helped them retain the Russian Premier League title. The Russia international struggled for form earlier in the English season, and found himself increasingly on the fringes of Arsene Wenger's squad. The move to Zenit offered Arshavin the prospect of regular games ahead of Russia's participation in Euro 2012, something that the player is pleased has come to fruition. "Without a doubt it was the right decision," he declared to Russia's Sport Express newspaper.

Comfortable

"There are many reasons why. First of all, I am now playing, and that is paramount for any player as training is no substitute for matches. "Second, I have returned to my hometown. Third, Zenit have done everything to make me feel comfortable and my thoughts are now only focused on football." As to the where his future lies, Arshavin stated that he is only concentrating on international matters in the short-term. "I haven't yet thought about (my future). Everything will be decided after the European Championships. Of course the result and the quality of play there could affect my destiny."
