Striker in talks over long-term deal at Craven Cottage

Pavel Pogrebnyak has sought to end any uncertainty about his long-term future by confirming his intention to agree a new contract at Fulham. The Russian striker has scored six goals in 10 Premier League appearances since moving to Craven Cottage from Stuttgart in the January transfer window. His form has alerted rival clubs to his availability, with Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish a long-term admirer of the 28-year-old. Sunderland have also been linked with a bid for Pogrebnyak, but the former Zenit St Petersburg forward wants to stay with Fulham. "I would like to stay in England, in Fulham," Pogrebnyak told RIA Novosti. "That's what we are working on now."
