Club continue to talk to veteran striker over new deal

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has not closed the door on agreeing an 11th-hour deal to keep Didier Drogba at the club. The striker appeared certain to leave the Blues when his contract expires this summer after rejecting a one-year extension. Amid reports the club are refusing to budge on the forward's demands for a two-year extension, Gourlay insists talks are on-going and 'we'll sit down' after the UEFA Champions League final with Bayern Munich on May 19th. Gourlay said: "We continue to discuss with Didier the situation. "Didier loves this football club, we love Didier, and we'll continue to have the conversations. "Didier and the rest of the team are completely focused on what we've got to achieve in the next week and, once that's finished, we'll sit down."
