Wigan could step in for Ghana ace
Wigan Athletic are understood to be looking at making a last-minute bid for Ghana starlet Emmanuel Baffour.
Turkish side Antalyspor are in pole position to land Baffour and have a deal in place with his club New Edubiase United.
However, there is still substantial interest from a number of rival clubs including Turkish sides Besiktas and Bursaspor, as well as Danish outfit FC Copenhagen.
Wigan, along with Bolton, have been tracking Baffour for a number of months and could yet make a move for the 23-year-old Ghana international striker.
"A number of clubs are still keen on him, but the deal in Turkey is close," his representative Chris Nathaniel told
Sky Sports.
"They know the situation, but they will have to act quickly."
New Edubiase president Abdul Salam Mumuni said. "We have completed all the paperwork. It's a done deal. What is left is for the player to undergo the routine medicals and then we finalise everything."
Baffour has scored 21 goals already this season and is closing on the Ghanaian record of 22 goals in a season set by Ishmael Addo over a decade ago.
