Palermo centre-back won't be heading to White Hart Lane this summer

Harry Redknapp has insisted that Tottenham are not considering a move for Palermo defender Matias Silvestre this summer. The Argentine centre-back has impressed with his performances in Serie A over the past couple of years and is believed to have attracted the attention of several clubs. Reports this week suggested that Spurs were among the chasing pack and could be looking to bring him in during the transfer window. Redknapp admits that he admires the player but says he is not one of the club's targets. "I have not had talks in the last few days with Palermo to ask about Silvestre," Redknapp is quoted as saying in calciomercato.it. "We are certainly talking about a good player, but we never thought about him for next season. "I can therefore rule out any kind of interest from Tottenham for Silvestre."
