Swedish youngster willing to head home

Marko Mitrovic would be willing to return to his roots at Malmo after conceding that he is unlikely to be offered an opportunity to shine at Chelsea. The 19-year-old striker has been on the books at Stamford Bridge since January 2008. The Blues snapped him up from Malmo after spotting his potential early on. Mitrovic was a regular source of goals for Chelsea's academy side and helped them to land the FA Youth Cup in 2009/10. Injuries have stunted his progress since then, but he made the step up to reserve team level in 2011/12.

Heart

He will, however, see his first professional deal expire this summer and is readying himself for a new challenge. The Swedish youngster admits he would welcome the opportunity to head home and has taken a swipe at Chelsea and their reluctance to offer academy stars a chance in the first team. "It (Malmo) is still the club in my heart and it would be great to return." Mitrovic told Expressen. "Chelsea don't really invest in their youngsters, they would rather sign experienced players."
