West Ham look to land Malian ace

West Ham United have made a move to sign Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga, Sky Sports understands. The Malian forward saw a move to Newcastle United collapse last season, whilst Stoke City and Reading have also been linked. Now West Ham have made their move for the highly-rated Mali international and are looking to land him for around £4million. The Hammers are now locked in talks, but hope that Maiga will travel to England next week to conclude a deal. Maiga has bagged 24 league goals in his past two seasons with Sochaux after joining from Le Mans.
