Westley to bring in striker after impressing on trial

Sky Sports understands Preston have agreed a deal to sign Akpo Sodje after he impressed on trial. Sodje is available on a free transfer after leaving Chinese side Tianjin Teda, having previously been released by Hibernian at the end of the January window. The former Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday man has spent the past couple of weeks training with Preston. He has featured in the League One club's recent pre-season friendlies and he impressed Preston boss Graham Westley after scoring four goals in three games. Westley has now decided to offer Sodje a contract at Deepdale as he prepares for the start of the League One campaign this weekend.
