Leeds defender lined up for Fratton Park switch on short-term basis

Sky Sports understands that Leeds full-back Paul Connolly is set to join Portsmouth in a short-term loan deal. Connolly is surplus to requirements at Elland Road having been transfer listed by Neil Warnock at the end of last season. The 28-year-old has found himself further down the pecking order following the recent signing of Lee Peltier and is willing to get some football under his belt at League One Portsmouth. Pompey are desperate for players as Michael Appleton tries to draft in enough bodies ahead of the new season in order to be competitive for the new campaign. And the former Derby man would represent a reliable figure to help the club at a difficult time as they fight to avoid liquidation.
