Stop-start

Silva will be hoping to return to action as soon as possible, as he had been showing signs of recapturing top form before picking up another unfortunate knock. Kidd added: "Pre-season was stop-start for a lot of our boys, particularly David Silva, after the Euros. "You like to get a good pre-season under your belt, and David, along with Gareth Barry, missed a lot of pre-season. Games bring players on."
