Gary Neville picks his star players from throughout football history.
NEVILLE ON SEAMAN
"I came into the England team in1995 and David Seaman was No.1 throughout the next five or six years. Arsenal were obviously Manchester United's main competitor and he was a fantastic goalkeeper. He had a huge presence, big voice and his greatest quality - which I think all goalkeepers have - is that concentration, that calmness about them. It makes everything look quite simple. He kicks it well, just catches it rather than flapping at it and he was somebody that did those things really well."
NEVILLE ON MALDINI
"When you think of the greatest defender in the last 25 years, everybody would, I think, say the same name; Paolo Maldini. Just his physique, his longevity, his fitness levels, the way in which he never seemed to make mistakes, his knowhow and intelligence - which is key for defending - just knowing where to be. He affected the game in both areas, both in the attacking sense and the defending sense. Paulo Maldini was somebody really who everybody that became a full-back in the 1990s into the 2000s looked at as being the icon."
NEVILLE ON MATTHAUS
"Lothar Matthaus is someone who I have special memories of. I watched him as a child almost as a teenager for Germany, playing brilliantly well as a driving midfield player, scoring goals. He is someone who I have huge respect for. I think every great team has somebody like him who holds them together, that leader character, and he has adapted his game like all great players do throughout their career. Someone who started as a midfield player but then went further back and I think that is a real sign of a great player."
NEVILLE ON BERGKAMP
"The best domestic team I ever played against was the Arsenal 1998 team that had Dennis Bergkamp in that No.10 role. He was a wonderful player, because he had all the attributes that you need to play in that No.10 role and more. He scored goals, he set up goals but really it was that inner steel that he had as well that was apparent when you played against him. Bergkamp was someone who always found the pass. The weight of pass was perfect and the appreciation of his team-mates was excellent. A real, great football player in the Premier League."
NEVILLE ON SHERINGHAM
"Everybody who speaks about Teddy Sheringham talks about his ability to understand the game, to play that second striker role brilliantly and he was so aggressive, good in the air, while his ability to lay people in and play people in one-touch was excellent. The biggest compliment I can pay him is that his team-mates absolutely used to love him. He was always on target, always available but you will not find a striker who played with Teddy Sheringham who says he was not good to play with."
