Arsene Wenger was pleased with Arsenal's performance as they claimed a second away win of the week at Sunderland.
Fresh from edging out Anderlecht in a dramatic UEFA Champions League encounter on Wednesday, Arsenal collected three welcome Premier League points from a 2-0 victory on Wearside.

Wenger's side were once again far from their free-flowing best, but results are all that matter.
Two mistakes, from Wes Brown and Vito Mannone, allowed Alexis Sanchez to claim a match-winning brace on Saturday.
Wenger believes his side deserved that little bit of luck, with enough offered over the course of 90 minutes to take the spoils.
He told Sky Sports on a meeting with a side that were crushed 8-0 by Southampton in their last top flight outing: "We gave very few chances away and had many chances.
"It was a difficult game because Sunderland were focused to defend well after last week and in the second half they came at us much more.
"We have had two difficult away games, Anderlecht on Wednesday night and today away from home. It’s difficult to win in the Premier League away from home.
"I think we deserved the win today. We have lost only one game but if you aren’t getting three points, you don’t go forward. But let’s focus game by game, and we did that today."
While eager to reflect on the positives taken from a trip to the North East, Arsenal did see left-back Kieran Gibbs suffer another untimely injury to add to the defensive woes at Emirates Stadium.
Wenger added: "It looks to me a hip problem but for everybody who is very concerned about our shortness at the back, I felt that (Nacho) Monreal and (Per) Mertesacker had an outstanding game.
"Of course we have many players injured at the back but I think that overall we have done very well."
