Bolton boss Neil Lennon admits the best side won following his side's 2-1 defeat at Norwich in the Championship on Friday.
Norwich had gone five games without a win but Cameron Jerome scored twice to set up them on their way to victory.
Chung-yong Lee pulled a late goal back but it was not enough to get them something to take back to Lancashire.
Beaten Bolton boss Neil Lennon conceded Norwich are what his side need to aim for.
"That's the benchmark and that's what we strive to be, where Norwich are," he said.
"We lacked a bit of legs in midfield, a bit of physicality and our two centre halves struggled against their strikers.
"We were second best and Norwich deserved to win the game."
