Ligue 1 leaders Marseille were held to a 1-1 draw away to Lorient, opening the door for Paris St Germain to claim top spot on Wednesday.

OM took a 32nd-minute lead through Dimitri Payet's angled drive but were pegged back five minutes later when goalkeeper Steve Mandanda was harshly adjudged to have fouled Benjamin Jeannot and ex-Marseille striker Jordan Ayew - shruggling off some barracking from former team-mate Andre-Pierre Gignac - converted the penalty.

Marseille now lead by two points ahead of second-placed PSG's game against Lille.

Monaco bounced back from their 2-0 loss to Rennes, beating struggling Lens by the same scoreline to end a four-match winless run.

Fabinho rattled the crossbar in the first half but Dimitar Berbatov won and converted a second-half penalty and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco added a superb solo strike in injury time.

Martin Braithwaite netted a late winner as Toulouse returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 victory over Nantes at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Guinea left-back Issiaga Sylla handed the visitors the lead midway through the first half but a 64th-minute penalty from Jordan Veretout levelled matters before Braithwaite struck five minutes from time to claim all three points.
