Georgino Wijnaldum to hold Newcastle talks over PSV move

PSV Eindhoven have given attacking midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum permission to talk to Newcastle about a possible move and undergo a medical.
Sky sources report that the clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £14.5m for the Dutch international and the transfer is expected to be ratified at a PSV board meeting on Friday morning.
Wijnaldum has left his hotel in France and is en route to the north-east, and Newcastle are hoping to have him in the travelling party which is heading to the United States for a pre-season tour this weekend.
The 24-year-old Wijnaldum claimed the Dutch player of the year award last season, as he captained PSV to the Eredivisie title, and has been a long-term Newcastle target.
The former Feyenoord man has been capped 19 times by the Netherlands and was on target in their 3-0 defeat of Brazil in the third place play-off at the World Cup last summer.
Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren knows Wijnaldum well from his two stints in charge of Dutch side FC Twente.
