Rangers are set to be without Jamie Murphy for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final with Falkirk at Ibrox, live on Sky Sports.

The on-loan Brighton winger suffered a foot injury during Tuesday's 4-1 win at St Johnstone and is facing a race against time to be fit for next week's Old Firm showdown with Celtic.

While a string of games in Scotland have fallen foul of the weather, Gers look set to beat heavy snow and Graeme Murty says his players are hungry to continue their bid for a first trophy since 2011.

"It's a big challenge for us as we know teams coming to Ibrox are not necessarily going to be as open or as expressive as they may be at home," Murty told reporters.

"But we have to go and embrace the challenge and take it as a positive that we can go and set down another marker on the journey we are on.

"We are in a good way at the moment and the guys are very positive. They are hungry for the next challenge, and once again, they want to go and win the game, get through to the next round and go and finish this season on a high.

"I've just said to them, we just have to go and win the next game, and they are really enjoying their football at the minute."

Graeme Murty insists there are no problems with QPR after the midfielder's impressive start to life on loan at Rangers.

Team news

Murphy is doubtful and left-back Declan John is also likely to sit out the action with a groin injury meaning Andy Halliday - who filled in at McDiarmid Park - will battle it out with fit-again skipper Lee Wallace to start against the Bairns.

Ryan Jack (knee), Graham Dorrans (ankle), Ross McCrorie (foot) and Jordan Rossiter (ankle) remain out.

Paul Hartley is likely to keep faith with the team that claimed a goalless draw against Dumbarton last week as he takes Falkirk to Ibrox in the William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Rory Loy could return to the starting line-up versus Rangers after being relegated to the bench, but Hartley has no fresh injury worries after having a week to prepare for the match.

Paul Watson could also be recalled for Falkirk, who are currently on a run of six wins in their last eight games.
