Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has underlined his focus on Sunday's Scottish League Cup semi-final with Motherwell after refusing to discuss his ongoing rift with striker Kenny Miller.

Miller's agent David Baldwin accused Rangers of 'trashing' the player's reputation when he was omitted from the squad after claims of a "leak" in the dressing room.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha stands firm over Kenny Miller

While the 37-year-old is back training with the first team, Caixinha refused to say if he would be involved on Sunday against Motherwell at Hampden (kick-off 2.30pm).

"I've been speaking about that for the last three weeks," said the Portuguese.

"Now I'd just like to place a period on all those conversations. Period. Period. Period. We have an expression in Portuguese, 'ponto final'. It means finished, no more questions."

Miller has missed the last two Scottish Premiership games, against Hamilton and St Johnstone, after stories emerged of an ill-tempered row after last month's defeat by Celtic.

Rangers are unbeaten away from Ibrox in domestic football since losing the Scottish Cup semi-final to Celtic in April.

Caixinha insists he is solely focused on helping Rangers reach their first Scottish League Cup final since 2011, but Louis Moult will need to be kept quiet with the Motherwell striker having scored nine goals already this season.

"There's a massive buzz around this football club at the minute," he said.

"It helps when you're in the semi-final of a cup on Sunday and you're in that top six. So we've started really positively, and it's up to us to maintain that throughout the season.

"We've watched them and analysed them, so we're going into the game with a lot of belief. We're the underdogs and we understand that people have written us off already, but that's a good thing for us. We're not worried about them - it's about us."

Motherwell's last win over Rangers came in May 2015 when they retained their top-flight status with a 6-1 aggregate victory in the play-offs.

    Team news
