Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Rotherham United and Swansea City.

Harry Darling's stunning strike earned Swansea a 1-1 draw at Rotherham but they had goalkeeper Andy Fisher to thank for keeping the point.

The centre-half marked his debut in fine style as he crashed a 25-yard effort into the top corner to cancel out Cheidozie Ogebene's opener for the Millers.

Ogbene, who has been linked with a summer move to the Swans, nodded his side into an early lead and was denied twice more by Fisher.

The Swans goalkeeper also made good stops from Cohen Bramall, Georgie Kelly and Dan Barlaser as the Millers pushed for a win on their return to the Championship.

But it was not to be and both sides, who had good chances, had to settle for a point in an entertaining opener.

Russell Martin's side, with their ability to beat the Rotherham press, started well and fashioned some half-chances for Joel Piroe, who shot tamely at Viktor Johansson and then had a goalbound effort blocked by Cameron Humphreys.

Rotherham's approach was very different, and once they had got to grips with the game their direct tactics paid dividends as they took a 16th-minute lead.

Wes Harding's long throw was flicked on by a Swansea defender into the path of Ogbene, who nodded over Fisher and into the back of the net.

It was the start of a dominant spell for the hosts, who would have doubled their lead nine minutes later had Fisher not been alert to palm away Ogebene's inventive overhead kick from another well-worked set-piece.

Rotherham were on top and would have fancied their chances of doubling the lead as Ben Wiles led a five on four counter-attack, only to trip over the ball.

That proved a pivotal moment, as a minute later it was all-square and it needed something special from the Swans.

Centre-back Darling was given too much space as he shifted the ball on to his right foot and arrowed a 25-yard shot into the top corner.

Ogbene was Rotherham's biggest threat and could have regained his side's lead early in the second half.

Wiles played him in on goal but his curling shot was tipped around the post by Fisher.

Swansea began to up the ante and had two quickfire chances to go in front just after the hour.

First, Piroe advanced down the left and crossed for Obafemi at the far post who only had to tap into an empty net, but got it all wrong and produced an embarrassing miss.

Then, moments later, Johansson produced a stunning save to tip over Jamie Paterson's effort after the dangerous Piroe had his shot blocked.

It looked like Rotherham were going to be hanging on for the final 30 minutes, but they came back to life and fashioned enough chances to win the game.

But they found Fisher in impenetrable form as he got down well to keep out Kelly and Bramall efforts before tipping over Barlaser's rasping drive.

Clubs condemn 'unacceptable, unsavoury' fan behaviour

Both Championship clubs issued a statement on Saturday evening condemning the 'unacceptable, unsavoury behaviour' of a section of supporters in the south-east corner of the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Rotherham wrote: "We are disappointed to be issuing this statement concerning the events involving a small section of both Millers and Swansea City fans located in the South East corner of the stadium.

"The club works closely with the EFL and has been stressing the message of their 'Love Football. Protect The Game' campaign - which has seen clubs across the country working as a collective to stamp out crowd trouble - in the build-up to the 2022/23 campaign.

"Both clubs will now work together alongside South Yorkshire Police to identify and subsequently punish the perpetrators and the individuals in question will not be welcome back at AESSEAL New York Stadium, where we pride ourselves on creating an environment in which everyone can enjoy the game.

"We would once again like to thank the majority of our fan base who - as always - behaved impeccably and helped the team to perform on the pitch."

Swansea also issued a smiliar statement which added: "That such behaviour should happen during a period where the club has worked closely with the EFL in promoting the 'Love Football. Protect the Game.' Campaign - which has seen clubs across all three divisions stress the need to eradicate anti-social behaviour from our game - only adds to our sense of dismay."

What the managers said...

Rotherham's Paul Warne: "I thought the lads worked really hard out of possession. I thought the crowd got it. They know the quality of the opposition, it's not a League One game where you can throw the kitchen sink in the last 20 minutes. Overall I was really pleased. We have conceded a 30-yard screamer from a £1.5million centre-half, there is no shame in that. We limited them to very few attempts on goal, although in fairness they did miss a gilt-edged chance.

"I was really pleased with the work ethic. It is very hard to get a point in this league. They are exhausted. We definitely need to help the lads out but I was really pleased with the performance against a really good team. I don't want fans to think that every home game is going to be like that, it won't be. They are a very technical ball-playing side and a very difficult side to play against the way we play. I am chuffed."

Swansea's Russell Martin: "I think he (Darling) really grew after the goal. I thought he got better and better. Harry did great, brilliant goal, we know he possesses the ability to do that. It's strange that in a game where we had some really good chances that was the one that went in. We deserved at least that. He did it for us at MK a few times but he possesses real quality. The goal will do him the world of good.

"I am frustrated with the scoreline, I thought we created more than enough to win. Paul (Warne) will say they had some shots, but we had some excellent chances. I am really pleased with so many aspects of the performance. We started brilliantly and when they scored there was a bit of anxiety, but the way we recovered was brilliant."
