Eder's equaliser earned Sampdoria a 1-1 draw against Empoli in Serie A at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Thursday evening.

Manuel Pucciarelli had put the visitors ahead on the hour mark, receiving the ball with his back to goal and turning to fire a left-footed shot past Emiliano Viviano.

But the lead lasted only eight minutes before Eder got on the end of Fernando's cross and restored parity.

Eighteen-year-old Empoli substitute Assane Diousse was sent off a minute from time for a second bookable offence.
