Arsenal registered a league-topping 22 goals from set-pieces (excluding penalties) in the Premier League last season and once again top the chart this term with eight, level with Everton.

The Gunners have netted a league-high six goals from corners, with the latest coming from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba in their 2-0 win over Manchester United on Wednesday night. The Toffees have scored four from free-kick routines.

Aston Villa have six goals from set-pieces, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest registering five.

Fulham are yet to score from a corner, free-kick or throw-in, while Ipswich, Southampton, Wolves and Liverpool have scored only twice.

Another 10 players have scored twice from non-penalty, dead-ball situations, including Chris Wood, John Stones, Michael Keane, Marc Guehi, Yoane Wissa, Cole Palmer, Ethan Pinnock, Evanilson, Marcus Rashford and Amadou Onana.

In total, 64 players have notched 78 goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season - underlining why the spotlight on set-piece coaches continues to intensify.

Inswinging, outswinging or straight corners?

The secret to Arsenal's success with corner routines appears to be the league-high proportion of them fired with inswinging deliveries.

Interestingly, Pep Guardiola's side appear to do things differently with 36 per cent of their corners typically being played short. Tottenham and Crystal Palace also fall into this category.

Fulham play more outswingers than inswingers - a tactic yet to pay off. West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves also fire more than a third of their corners with outswinging deliveries.

Manchester United and Everton play around one in 10 of their corners directly straight - the highest proportion in the Premier League this season.
