Toni Duggan's long-range goal helped Manchester City Women into the Champions League quarter-finals

Toni Duggan hooked home a delightful volley to help send Manchester City into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Duggan controlled a loose ball on the edge of the box before firing past Katrine Abel from 25 yards to secure a 2-1 aggregate win for City over Brondby.

Women's Super League champions City held onto their first-leg advantage thanks to a 1-1 draw in Denmark on Wednesday, with both goals coming inside a minute during a tense second half.

After Jill Scott saw her header cleared off the line, Nikita Parris then crashed a shot off the bar as City piled on the pressure before Duggan struck on 65 minutes.

Their lead would last only a matter of seconds with a mistake at the back giving Christiansen the chance to get on to Julie Tavlo-Petersson's cross and score at the second attempt, but City would hold on to their lead and secure a place in the last eight, with the draw scheduled to take place on November 25.
