Atletico Madrid and Liverpool put their 100 per cent records on the line when they lock horns in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Fernando Torres misses out on an emotional return to his former club after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty. The match holds special significance for Reds goalkeeper Jose Reina as his father Miguel Reina played for Atletico in the 1970s and also Rafa Benitez who returns to the place of his birth. The game goes ahead at the Vicente Calderon after Uefa overturned the stadium ban imposed on Atletico following incidents during their Champions League game at home to Marseille. Liverpool are boosted by the return of Javier Mascherano and Ryan Babel after they missed last weekend's win over Wigan. Mascherano is likely to come straight back into the side with possibly Steven Gerrard being pushed into a more forward role. Gerrard, Yossi Benayoun and Robbie Keane all travelled to the Spanish capital with minor knocks, but they are expected to play. Martin Skrtel remains sidelined for Liverpool with a knee injury along with Philipp Degen. Fabio Aurelio is back in contention after recovering from a calf problem and he could replace Andrea Dossena in defence. Atletico coach Javier Aguirre is under pressure ahead of the game after seeing his side lose their last three Primera Liga encounters. Former Liverpool heroes Luis Garcia and Florent Sinama Pongolle are both hoping to get the nod to face their old team-mates. The Rojiblancos could start with star striker Sergio Aguero on the bench as he is struggling for full fitness. In Aguero's absence Pongolle is expected to lead the attack alongside former Manchester United man Diego Forlan. The home side are without Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi after he picked up an injury in last weekend's Madrid derby defeat to Real, but Pablo Ibanez is available again. Atletico captain and former Reds target Maxi Rodriguez misses out with a thigh problem and French goalkeeper Gregory Coupet is also sidelined with a thigh injury.
