Bayern Munich beat Steaua Bucharest 3-0 to progress into the last 16 of the Champions League.
Second-half Klose brace and Toni header sees German giants to victory
Three second-half goals saw Bayern Munich beat Steaua Bucharest to progress from Group F into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
A Miroslav Klose brace and one from Luca Toni - who missed a hatful of first-half chances - saw the German giants comfortably home.
Bayern should have gone in front in the third minute but Steaua keeper Robinson Zapata pulled off an outstanding point-blank save from Toni after Klose crossed from the left.
Soon afterwards, Toni had another chance from a Klose cross but the ball went out and he then could not control another Klose cross soon after that.
Then in the ninth minute, the Italian striker shot wide of Steaua's left post after a cross from Franck Ribery.
Steaua had their first attempt on goal in the 16th minute but Dayro Moreno's well struck effort from long range was straight at keeper Michael Rensing.
Seven minutes later, the visitors had a better chance when Moreno crossed from the right but Mirel Radoi volleyed over.
Goal disallowed
Bayern then had a goal disallowed from Klose in the 26th minute after he had been chested through by Toni, who was given offside.
Steaua pressed late on in the first period, with Dorin Goian's close-range effort saved by Rensing diving to his left.
Soon after the restart, Toni blasted over from close range before he then headed straight at the keeper from a good position.
But Klose finally put the hosts ahead from close range on 57 minutes after Ribery headed on a Massimo Oddo cross from the right.
Four minutes later, Toni added a second, heading home into the bottom corner after Klose flicked on a Lucio cross from the left.
Third goal
Klose then added a third on 70 minutes after a great run and pass from Ribery.
Late on, Steaua substitute Antonio Sameno shot just over after Moreno's effort could only be parried by Rensing, while Bayern substitute Tim Borowski's effort was well saved by Zapata, who also dived down well to his right to deny Klose in injury time.
Despite this defeat, Steaua can still get into the Uefa Cup if they can beat Fiorentina at home on 10th December after the Italians lost 2-1 to Lyon.
