Substitute Shayden Morris scored a last-gasp winner but Luton’s 3-2 victory at play-off contenders Bolton could not clinch them a top-six finish in Sky Bet League One.

Stevenage's own late goal at home to Wigan ensured Jack Wilshere's Hatters had to settle for seventh spot despite going an 11th third-tier match unbeaten.

Bolton, who trailed 1-0 and led 2-1, dropped from third at the start of play to fifth and will now face Bradford over two legs for a place at Wembley.

In a remarkable game, Nahki Wells saw his penalty seven minutes into second-half stoppage time saved by Jack Bonham. Luton also hit the goal frame three times in the opening period but still trailed 2-1 at the break.

The visitors led through Jordan Clark's 14th-minute spot kick for Max Conway's trip on Isaiah Jones.

Jordi Osei-Tutu's first goal since last December brought Wanderers level after 20 minutes.

And, in the third minute of stoppage time, Ibrahim Cissoko took Ruben Rodrigues pass in his stride to edge Steven Schumacher's team ahead.

Bolton could have put the result beyond doubt at the start of the second half. Instead, Brighton loanee Amario Cozier-Duberry was twice denied by Josh Keeley while Mason Burstow hit a post in the same attack.

Hakeem Odoffin's 62nd-minute header levelled things for Luton before Morris squeezed in what proved to be only a campaign consolation of a winning goal.
