Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to retain the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at Signal Iduna Park.
Nathaniel Brown, the debutant playing in support of Harry Kane following Jamal Musiala's health scare, slammed in the opening goal just before the half-hour mark and Michael Olise's superb individual effort doubled Bayern's advantage before the break.
Dortmund were in the game with Serhou Guirassy failing to find the net with a presentable opportunity early on and Rami Bensebaini having a glancing header ruled out for offside just before Olise punished Niko Kovac's team in first-half stoppage time.

Attacking the Yellow Wall, Dortmund pushed with newcomer Giannis Konstantelios impressive off the bench but it was another substitute, Fabio Silva, who pulled one back with a deflected strike. And there were opportunities for an unlikely equaliser.
Silva headed straight at Manuel Neuer before Jobe Bellingham came close to dispossessing the goalkeeper near his line only for the veteran to recover. Bensebaini's 90th-minute red card for a bad challenge on Ismael Saibari made it even more difficult.
But Dortmund blew the best chance of the night when Maxi Beier was slipped through on goal but somehow contrived to sky his shot over the bar from close range. Dortmund defeated and Bayern celebrating their first trophy of the season before August is out.
